Boy Interrupted
Evan Perry, the 15-year-old son of Hart and Dana Perry, jumped to his death from his bedroom window in New York City on October 2, 2005. This heartfelt film tells the story of Evan's life and death, as told by his filmmaker parents and others who knew him. It also tells the story of Evan's battle with bipolar disorder. During this book, Evan's family talks to each other about their journey through the maze of mental illness. In this movie, we see how one family copes with generations of loss and grief. The film breaks down the stigma around mental illness and suicide, and it tells a story that everyone can relate to.
