Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a television comedy series first broadcast in 1982, developed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, and starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals, the show comprised Abrahams, Zucker and Zucker's non sequiturs, word play and usual sight-gags. It bore a particular resemblance to the 1960s show Felony Squad, M-Squad and also the Lee Marvin cop series while a parody of many tv shows and movies. Although cancelled after just six episodes, the series spawned the Naked Gun film series. Television Guide ranked it 7 to their own 2013 list of 60 shows that were"Cancelled too early".
