Manhattan children are being killed by A disorder carried by shared cockroaches. In an effort to stop the outbreak an entomologist, Susan Tyler, creates a blue variety of insect that secretes a fluid to kill the roaches. Three decades after Susan finds out that the species has lived and evolved, although this breed has been engineered to die after one generation.
