Algernon Moncrieff is astonished to realize that his wealthy friend -- whom he knows as"Ernest" -- is actually named Jack Worthing. Where he takes good care of his fee, Cecily Cardew jack made his alterego in order to flee his country estate. Cecily believes that Ernest is Jack brother and also is excited on his raffish lifestyle. Algernon, sneaks off to woo Cecily and seeing an opportunity, supposes Ernest's individuality.
