The Love of Jeanne Ney
The Reds and Whites are still fighting in the Crimea, and Jeanne realizes her boyfriend is a Bolshevik (when he kills her father). She works for her uncle in Paris, penniless. After that, Andreas organizes Toulon sailors. Khalibiev, a thief, traitor, and libertine, tries to seduce Jeanne. His plots, Jeanne and Andreas' naivete, and a missing gem nearly destroy the lovers.
