The Joy of Painting

The American painter Bob Ross hosted the TV show The Joy of Painting, which taught people how to paint landscapes in oil. Ross could finish a painting in 30 minutes, but the point of the show wasn't to teach people how to "speed paint." Instead, he wanted people to learn how to do certain things in the time that the show had. The show started on January 11, 1983, and ended on May 17, 1994, exactly one year before Ross died.
