The Julia Child Challenge

House cooks and Julia Child superfans complete during two rounds of competitors in an effort to excite the judges with their cooking capabilities as well as share how Julia transformed their lives. The first round masters the fundamentals and tests the competitors to re-create one of Julia's trademark meals, with some assistance from Julia herself, as seen on a huge television display in the middle of the action. Round 2 is an ode to Julia, where rivals must take ideas from Julia to produce a special recipe mirroring their own culinary perspective. Dishes from the second round are served family-style, with competitors as well as courts tasting each recipe and sharing stories regarding their food journeys and individual link to Julia. Antonia Lofaso and a turning panel of visitor courts will certainly determine which of the rivals wins the life-changing grand prize that literally adheres to in Julia's footprints: an all-expense paid three-month cooking program at Le Cordon Bleu.
