To Love-Ru
To Love-Ru is a Japanese manga series written by Saki Hasemi and illustrated by Black Cat's creator Kentaro Yabuki. The manga was serialized between April24, 2006 and August31, 2009 in Shueisha's manga magazine Weekly Shnen Jump; 18 tankbon volumes have been published in Japan. In February2008, a CD with an original drama was released. Between April and September 2008, a 26-episode adaptation of the manga by Xebec aired in Japan. Xebec produced six original video animation episodes between April 2009 and April 2010. Xebec's 12-episode second season named Motto To-Love Ru ran from October to December 2010. A Nintendo DS video game was launched in August2008, while a PlayStation Portable video game was released in October 2008. On October4,2010, a continuation of the manga titled To Love-Ru Darkness began publishing in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine. A Xebec-produced anime version of To-Love Ru Darkness began broadcasting in October 2012. The title,, is the English gairaigo for "trouble," and "rabu" is a loanword from the English language for "love." The title is a play on the phrase "love problem," which reflects the series' harem element.
